Following last week’s reblog of an Amtrak train, I thought it would make sense to compare it to a UK train. I feel like a train trip is usually about as interesting as a coach flight but is much more efficient. It’s very doable to arrive at the train station 15 minutes before your train and still comfortably get on.
One thing I do miss about UK trains is that you can get an off-peak ticket and just get on whatever train you want on a given day (or even within a month!) I don’t know if anywhere else has quite the same flexibility. Amtrak certainly doesn’t!
