Airline co-branded card comparison: mid-level

The next step up from the entry-level cards is the mid-tier cards: those with annual fees around $250.  Delta has the Platinum Card from American Express ($250) and United as the Quest card from Chase ($250).  American doesn’t currently have a mid-tier credit card, so I’ve included the Aviator Silver card ($199) here for comparison,Continue reading “Airline co-branded card comparison: mid-level”

Airline co-branded card comparison: entry-level

Now that we’ve gone through the free airline cards, it’s time for the entry-level cards, those with an annual fee of around $100.  As I mentioned in the previous article, American, Delta, and United actually partner with 4 banks.  Specifically, at the roughly $100 level, American offers two cards: one with Barclays and one withContinue reading “Airline co-branded card comparison: entry-level”

Airline co-branded cards: Free versions

The three full-service airlines in the US: American, Delta, and United, not only compete with each other in the air but also in banks.  They each offer a host of co-branded credit cards with partner banks.  American partners with Citi and Barclays, Delta partners with American Express, and United partners with Chase.  The credit cardsContinue reading “Airline co-branded cards: Free versions”

Strange new Marriott Cards: Bevy and Bountiful

Immediately after I finished covering the existing Marriott cards, Marriott decided to drop a brand-new set of cards.  They had been rumored for some time, but now they’ve finally arrived. In this article, I want to check out the card’s big brother, the Chase Sapphire Reserve.  This card was launched as a competitor to the Amex Platinum andContinue reading “Chase Sapphire Reserve (2022 outdated version)”

Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card (2022 edition!)

I’ve previously written about Chase’s Marriott Bonvoy Bold Card and The Ritz-Carlton Card, which have a $0 and a $450 annual fee, respectively.  Chase has a third Marriott credit card: the Bonvoy Boundless card.  The Bonvoy Boundless card sits between these cards and has a $95 annual fee.  This card can be directly applied for,Continue reading “Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card (2022 edition!)”

The Ritz-Carlton Card by Chase

Probably my favorite credit card in my wallet currently is my Ritz-Carlton Card.  Since the card is a (retail) personal card, the card is issued by Chase, but the card itself is branded as being a JPMorgan card, likely for the prestige.  The Ritz-Carlton card is a legacy card from before Marriott and Starwood HotelsContinue reading “The Ritz-Carlton Card by Chase”

Michael’s 2022 credit card strategy

Since I’ve started posting about credit cards, which are a topic I can enjoy without having to drag myself to an airport, I figured I’d discuss my current credit card strategy.  Specifically, I’ll discuss my US credit card strategy because my UK strategy is minimal.  For the purposes of this article, I’m going to pegContinue reading “Michael’s 2022 credit card strategy”
