The Chase Sapphire Lounge: Boston!

After my great LAX-BOS flight in Flagship First, I decided to do it again in reverse!  Boston does not have any special American Airlines lounges, so instead I visited the Chase Sapphire Lounge.  The lounge is located between terminals B and C, and American uses terminal B, so that’s convenient! Except that it’s a solid 10 minute walk from the Sapphire Lounge to the gate used by the flights to LAX, which is the gate directly across from the Admirals Club.

When I arrived at the lounge, there was a line to get on the waitlist, which was largely what I had been expecting but was still unfortunate.

Access to Sapphire Lounges is complimentary once per year to any Priority Pass holder (including those who have a Priority Pass Card through the ((Amex Platinum))). or an unlimited number of visits per year to anyone holding a ((Sapphire Reserve)) or ((Ritz-Carlton Card)).

Upon arrival, I turned right to enter the bar.

Continuing forward was the lounge area.

I then U-turned to go find the food,

which was in the dining area.

The food was set up similarly to the ((Capital One Lounge in DC)): in a buffet with small grab-and-go plates.

There was a small drinks section that included a coffee machine and soft drinks.

Just past the drinks area was the buffet.

First was dessert, which included brownie bites, lemon bar bites, and cookies.  Lemon bars are my favorite, so I was very pleased.

Asian-style rice bowls and ramen were available at the first station.

Next were Korean-style gojuchang wings and bourguignon stew.

Then came some salad options.

Then a bruschetta-vibe option.

And finally, some soup and cold-cuts.

In addition, there were numerous menu items that you could order through a QR code in the lounge.  The pictures did not turn out well, but the options were:

  • Sapphire burger and fries
  • Sapphire noodles
  • French Fries
  • Gluten-free brownie
  • Kids chicken nuggets
  • Beef meatball parmesan sandwich
  • Chicken piccata and egg noodles
  • Seafood bouillabaisse
  • 9 types of wine
  • 4 types of beer
  • 6 signature and local cocktails

You could also reserve a shower, wellness room, or rest pod through the app.

I selected a handful of dishes, including the gojuchang, the lemon bars, one of the salads, and the bruschetta-ish bowl.  They were all excellent.

Next, I decided to check out one of the other seating areas.

When I left to catch my flight, the line outside was completely gone.

Since I had to walk over 10 minutes to my gate, I actually left before boarding began for once. I arrived at the gate maybe 5 minutes after boarding was scheduled to have started, and they were already on group 7 of 9.

In summary, the Chase Sapphire Lounge in Boston is wonderful. The food options are excellent. The seating areas are comfortable, and all the employees were very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this lounge if you have a Priority Pass (especially one from Chase) and time to visit it on your next trip to Boston airport.
